I like ol’ Pottsie. He was my legislator when I lived in Loudoun. My favorite quote from him came when we went on lobby day for Equality Virginia one year. There was a raft of anti-gay legislation that year it seemed, and Potts reply was “we are all God’s children”.
Anyway… question… Is a Democratic majority in the Senate now all the more important? If Dems pick up the majority in the Senate, aren’t we then in charge of naming the Chairman of the Senate Education and Health Committee and wouldn’t we be in charge of its membership, assuring that we have the votes to knock down the craziness coming from the House?

I admire Mr. Potts for having the courage to stand up for his convictions rather than doing a “lock step” to some in his party who could not stand for him to go against their dictates.
I also admire him for loving animals as well as the people he has served. I wish him the best in whatever he chooses to do.

He is my Senator, and I am sorry to see him go. He would have my money and support if he did run again.
